What the inside flap says . . .
Kylie: MEXICO? What a nightmare! I should be putting the finishing touches on my valedictorian speech. Graduation is TODAY! Wait! Is this a wedding band on my finger??
Max: It started with Kylie's laptop and a truck full of stolen electronics, and ended in Ensenada. It was hot, the way she broke us out like some chick in an action movie. But now we're stranded here, with less than twenty-four hours before graduation.
Will: Saving Kylie Flores from herself is kind of a full-time occupation. Luckily, I, Will Bixby, was born for the job. And when I found out she was stuck in Mexico with dreamy Max Langston, sure, I agreed to bring their passports across the border. But there's no reason to rush back home right away -this party is just getting started!
Lily: This CANNOT be happening. It's like some cruel joke. Or a bad dream. I close my eyes, and when i reopen them, they're still there. Max and Kylie Flores, freak of the century. In bed together. If Kylie thinks I'm giving him up without a fight, she's dead wrong.
I absolutely adore this book. From the cover to the characters and the plot. This was just a fun read.
First off, the cover. I'm not sure why I'm in love with this so much. Maybe it's the colors, or how the looks all four faces go great with the title. Or maybe it's the Chihuahua in the corner. Whatever is, its great. And I love it more after reading because the cover models are pretty close to how I pictured the characters.
The story, oh the story. It made me smile, it made me laugh, and it made me really feel for the characters. I love it when I can get to know characters. It makes reading so much more enjoyable. I really liked seeing all the different points of view, including Kylie's brother Jake. Outside of Kylie and Max who the story mainly revolves around, Jake was one of my favorite povs. He has Asperger's Syndrome and I just loved seeing how his mind worked. You also get to understand alittle more about what Kylie's life is like at home. One of my only complaints is that I would have like to see Will's and Lily's view points a little more.
There were a few things that were predictable and the ending was what I expected, but not at bad thing. I definitely enjoyed myself with this book between Kylie's outbursts, the banter between her and Max and all the movie references. I wish my high school graduation had been half as exciting as the one these guys had.
If you're looking for a fun, entertaining read I definitely recommend From What I Remember...

Great review! I agree there is something so captivating about the cover. This book kind of reminds me of Tangled by Carolyn Macker because of the different main characters. What is the POV of this?

ReplyDeleteThis may sound weird, but could you tell me hot to make the text box that is in your post. I have been trying to make one but I am failing miserably.
Actually all I did was highlight the text I wanted changed. For some reasonwhen Nick tries it, it looks like someone used a highlihter on the page instead of the bigcolored box likeabove. We think it make have to do withthe browser you use. I use firefox. Nick uses google chrome and says that browser hates him becuase it never works for him.
DeleteThank you! I use firefox, too, so maybe it will work :)
